35HP monk
The other day I was looking for a 55monk to go to the UW with and this guy came to me and said he was a 35monk cause he acsended at lvl10 and now he was lvl 19 so I asked him to ping his health and it said 35 of 35. so my question is; is it better to have 35 hp or 55 and is there a way to not lvl up cause when he reaches 20 he's 55 so...?

Yes, a 35HP monk is better than a 55HP monk because you are only taking 3 damage a hit instead of 5. Ideally, you would have 19 health because you would have the most HP possible while still only taking 1 damage a hit. There is no way to not level to 20 besides not fighting any monsters, so it is really not worth it.

nice.. i wonder if killing the doppleganger actually took him from 10-19
i have heard before that purely by doing this you can gain lots of lvls and it is of course easier with a monk using a 55 style build.

You always receive the 50,000xp, the <50second is for a small bonus xp.
At least, I think so.

Yes, that's how it works. Always 50,000 exp, bonus = kill within 50 seconds for an additional 1000 exp.

Killing the dopple gets you 50,000 xp, this does not however give you 9 levels past 10, killing it at 13 or 14 gets you to 19.

Level 19 means less health and indeed better.
Downside is your missing out on attribute points.

You kinda right and kinda wrong. It's not just the dmg you take but the ratio of hits to be killed. 35/3 = 11.6 vs 55/5 = 11, so you only get a buffer of 1 extra hit to be killed, which if you aggro too many smites, that extra hit probably won't save you. The more interesting benefit is the relation of your current hit points and what impact this has on hp regen pips. Given a 10 pip regen, this would yield more hits per second, than the 55 monk could handle.
The reason why 19 is so uber is that:
1) prot spirit reduces dmg's to -1
2) so it takes 19 hits to kill u(roughly equal to prot bond on a 55hp monk )
3) each pip of regen is made even more uber, given you're low hp
FYI: 19hp is 18% dp on a 55 monk w/o -50 grim cesta
